David Nivens, 60, passed away April 12, 2020, in Joplin, Mo.
David was born June 22, 1959 in St. Louis, Mo., to Hugh Nivens and Leslie (Reagor) Nivens. He was a lifetime Southwest Missouri resident and worked as an IT technician for Mercy Hospital of Carthage.
He enjoyed going to the lake and was an avid drag racer at several of the local area tracks. David could fix or build just about anything. He was always there to help family and friends.
David was united in marriage to Leisa Bray Nov. 3, 1979, at Round Grove Baptist Church in Miller, Mo. She survives.
David is survived by one son; Brandon Nivens (Marlena) of Pittsburg, Kan., one grandson; Jordan, one sister; Sheri Slater (Ken) of Kansas City, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews.
