Mary Lou Buckley, 85, passed away April 6, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born November 2, 1934, in Rockford, Iowa, to William and Lavina “Ballard” Rose. She was a longtime Springfield resident and resided in Carthage for the past 13 years. She retired from Springfield public schools as a cook after 20 years of service. Mary was a member of the Red Hats group and Golden Reflections. She was active in the Over Sixty Center and the Widows group. Mary loved bingo, cards and traveling.
Mary was united in marriage to Louis Buckley May of 1951 in Springfield, Mo., he preceded her in death in October 1997.
Mary is survived by one daughter-in-law Amy Buckley of Fairplay, MO, two grandchildren; Chad (Monika) Buckley of Richland, MO and Rickey A. (Angie) Buckley of Springfield, MO; four great-grandchildren Sarah (Steven) Domingue, Bryan Buckley, Dylan Buckley and Wyatt Buckley; one sister Carol (John) Stark of Carthage; two nieces Dana Martin and Kim Scharff, two nephews Harvey Kaiser and Marty Stark.
Mary is preceded by her parents, her husband, one son Rick L Buckley, July 2006, two sisters Celia Kasier, and Barbara Buckley, and one nephew Billy Scribbner.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2020, at White Chapel Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Open visitation will be Thursday April 9, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home.
