Denny L. Jones, 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Denny was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Carthage, Mo., to Earl W. and Marjorie D. “Carnes” Jones. Denny was a lifetime resident of Carthage and a truck driver for ConAgra, Butterball and Hatfields Trucking for a combined 32 years.
Denny was united in marriage to Martha “Smith” on June 19, 1954, in Carthage; she preceded him in death Sept. 1, 2017.
Denny is survived by one son, Larry Jones of Wyandotte, Okla.; three daughters, Kristi Thrasher (Doug), Valorie Moser and Donna McNamara, all of Carthage; one sister, Sharon Myers of Jasper, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Denny was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Smith, on Oct. 16, 2011, and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at Fasken Cemetery, northeast of Carthage.
