Patricia Ann Oglesbee, 68, Carthage, Missouri, affectionately known as Pat to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, at her home. She was born on November 4, 1955, in Lone Jack, Missouri, the daughter of the late Warren Lingle and Jeanne (Root) Lingle. Pat’s kind and adventurous spirit touched everyone she met. Her faith-filled nature was a guiding light throughout her life, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Pat graduated from Carthage High School in 1974 and furthered her education at Crowder College. Pat married the love of her life, John Oglesbee, on April 2, 2003, in Idabel, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death in April of 2020. She devoted much of her life to raising her children and creating a loving and welcoming home. Alongside her husband, she also played an integral role in running their family farm, demonstrating an exceptional work ethic and a deep connection to the land.
Survivors include her daughter, Katarina Baugh (Darren), Carthage, Missouri; her grandchildren, Koryn Hemann (Anthony), Oronogo, Missouri, Kylie Chesley (C.J.), Carthage, Missouri, and Elijah Baugh (Angel Morrow), Carthage, Missouri; her great-grandchildren, Jaxton Hemann, and Oakley Chesley; a brother, Leonard Lingle, Carl Junction, Missouri; a sister, Linda Lingle, Carthage, Missouri; and many extended family and friends.
Among her many interests, Pat had a passion for travel and exploration. She found a special place in her heart for Taos, New Mexico, a location she visited often and where she felt a deep sense of peace and happiness. Pat was also an avid collector of Native American artifacts, a hobby that allowed her to connect with history and culture in a way that was both respectful and full of admiration. Pat’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, adventure, and faith. She approached every day with an open heart and a readiness to help others, enriching the lives of those around her. Her commitment to her family, her love for her home and farm, and her enthusiasm for exploration and learning were the cornerstones of a life well-lived.
