Robyn Diane Ellis, 67, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on May 16, 1956, in Riverside, California, the daughter of Wallace L. “Swede” Halverson and the late Dorla Dean (Waddell) Halverson. Robyn brought joy and love to all who knew her throughout her 67 years of life.

Robyn spent her formative years in California, where she graduated from Moreno Valley High School in 1974. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to San Bernardino State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in arts. In her professional life, Robyn dedicated herself to the Carthage School District as a GED Coordinator, where she inspired countless individuals to reach for their educational goals. She also shared her warm and welcoming personality with customers as a sales associate at Lowe’s. Robyn married the love of her life, Scott Ellis, on October 3, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and their harmonious partnership lasted 31 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and many shared adventures.

Robyn’s love of nature and animals was evident to all who knew her. She found solace and joy in fishing, embracing the tranquility of the water and the thrill of the catch. Her adventurous spirit was never tamed, and she sought out new experiences with a zest that was infectious. The companionship of her dogs provided her with great comfort and happiness, reflecting her deep passion for all living creatures. Those who knew Robyn will remember her as a loving, adventurous, and passionate soul. Her radiant smile and generous heart left an indelible mark on the world. Her unwavering love for her family was a beacon that guided them through life’s challenges and celebrations alike.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Ellis; three sons, Ryan McInerney, Carthage, Missouri, Sean McInerney (Hannah), Los Angeles, California, and Cody Ellis (Grace), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her father and stepmother, Wallace “Swede” Halverson and Dorothy Halverson; a brother, Bruce Halverson (Robin), Aguanga, California; a sister, Deborah Babcock (Jim), Moreno Valley, California; and many extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held 11 am, Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5-6 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Knell Mortuary.
