Louis “Dusty” Oliver DeVillier III, age 80, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away in comfort and peace with his partner Barbra Deger by his side in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 29th, 2023. He was born in Houston, TX on June 6th, 1943, to Louis DeVillier II and Marguerite Waters, and was raised by Morris and Alberta Faulkner in Fordland, Missouri. Louis, better known as Dusty, graduated from Carthage Highschool in Carthage, MO the year of 1961 before studying Sociology at MSSC in Joplin, MO, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. He continued his studies earning a Master of Education degree in Counseling at SMSU in Springfield, MO in 1991. Dusty went on to work at Louisiana State University and was the clinical director of the substance abuse treatment center in Allen Parish. He concluded his career at Promise Hospital in Shreveport.
Dusty was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Donna DeVillier, and his son Thomas Owen DeVillier. He is survived by his son Toby Douglas DeVillier and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was dearly loved by all.
