Florence Mae Hartman, 88, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. Florence was born on August 17, 1934, to Lawrence Arley Baird and Grace “Monroe” Baird. She is a member of The Bridge church in Carthage. She had worked for Big Smith, Garmet Manufacturing, and Motorola over the years.
Florence was united in marriage to Milburn “Leslie” Hartman on September 14, 1952, in Huntsville, Arkansas; he preceded her in death on July 13, 2012.
She is survived by her son Larry Hartman (Debbie) of Carthage; her daughter, Terry Mahurin (Gale) of Oronogo; two brothers Sam Bernett (Linda) and David Bernett both of Carthage; seven grandchildren, Allison, Leslie, Corey, Casey, Calee, Luke, and Lacey; and fifteen great grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Hartman; her daughter, Vikki Houlihan; her granddaughter Lauren Hartman; her parents, Lawrence and Grace Baird; and her sister Ruby Clairy.
A service will be held for Florence at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Carthage. The visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM the evening before on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage. The burial will take place at Hackney Cemetery immediately following the service.
