Bonnie Arnold, 91, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2023, at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Bonnie was born April 20, 1931, in Jasper County, Missouri, the daughter of Ray Dodson and Alva (Arnold) Dodson. She married Bill Arnold on April 18, 1947, in Girard, Kansas. Bonnie was an LPN employed by Barton County Memorial Hospital and McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Missouri. She retired from Joplin Orthopedic Surgery in 1993. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage, Missouri. Her favorite pastimes were fishing with Bill and traveling. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Alva Dodson; four brothers; Allen Dodson of Carthage, Missouri, Paul Dodson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Donald Dodson of Shalimar, Florida, Virgil Dodson of Lamar, Missouri; five sisters, Ruby Jepson of Washington, Jewell Gatlin of Oregon, Ruth O’Malley of Colorado, Virgie Wiess of Carthage, and Margie Randall of Carthage. Sue Ehnen of Smithville, Missouri, is the sole surviving sister.

She is also survived by her husband Bill Arnold; two sons, Gary Lee Arnold and his wife Judy of Holts Summit, Missouri, and Kenneth Ray Arnold and his wife Audrey of Tucson, Arizona; four surviving grandchildren, Ben Arnold and wife Missy, Cathy Heckmaster and husband Dustin, Laura Gardiner, Lisa Kirk and husband Jim; six great-grandchildren, Alex and Austin Arnold, Addison and Owen Heckmaster, Nathan Kirk and Hannah Arocha. There is one great-great-grandson, Finlee Austyn Arnold. Bonnie was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services for Bonnie will be held at 2:00 on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home.
