CARTHAGE, Mo. — A three-year-old girl from Carthage has died after she was found unresponsive in a car on Friday.
According to the Carthage Police Department, the child was found in a car in the 100 block of North Maple street around 1:30 p.m. when officers were called to that location. Temperatures reached 94 Friday according to AccuWeather.
She was taken to a hospital in Joplin, then flown to a Springfield hospital for more intensive care. Police say the girl died Saturday.

The incident is still under investigation, but no arrests have been made at this time.
