JEFFERSON CITY – State Sen. Bill White, R-Joplin, encourages young Missouri women who are high school seniors to apply for a one-time $1,000 scholarship from the Women Legislators of Missouri Caucus.
The caucus created the senior scholarship program to provide financial assistance to female students on the basis of leadership, academics and community service.
“This is a great opportunity for any young woman who is interested in continuing her educational career to receive valuable financial assistance,” said Sen. White. “I encourage all graduating seniors in our community who have demonstrated leadership skills and academic success to apply.”
Interested candidates may apply online before March 24, 2022, and submit a 500-word essay answering the question, “If you were a state legislator, what would you hope to accomplish, and why?” The caucus will select recipients and hold a reception at the State Capitol in their honor on April 25, 2022. Scholarships will be presented to the recipients in the chamber of the Missouri House of Representatives. For further information, please call 573-751-4787.
