CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Lady Tiger basketball team won their second COC game in a row in the 57-41 win over the Willard Tigers Thursday night at the Carthage High School.
Senior Sophie Shannon had a strong game inside, finishing with a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Landry Cochran added 9 points from the post.
“Our two post players took advantage of Willard’s lack of height and got us key buckets each quarter,” said Carthage Coach Scott Moore.
Lauren Choate finished with a game high 17 points to lead the Tigers in scoring. Kianna Yates added to her recent 1,000 career point mark with another 13 points on the night while Raven Probert, Maggie Boyd and Presley Probert added 2 points apiece.
“Excellent execution of the game plan by the girls tonight,” said Moore. “Willard is great in transition and loves to shoot the three a lot. Our plan to to minimize both of those options for them and we did a great job tonight.”
“We want to build on this game and finish this season strong,” added Moore.
The Lady Tigers are now 11-12 overall and 2-4 in COC play. They host Branson Tuesday, Feb. 15, for senior night.
