Max C. Wilkerson, age 90, Reeds passed away Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Max was born August 15, 1928 in Lawrenceburg, MO, the son of the late Cecil and Neva Bullard Wilkerson, he was the eldest of four children. Max attended grade school in Plew, MO and played football and graduated from Miller High School in 1947. Max was drafted in the United States Army where he was a Corporal assigned to the 72nd Combat Engineers, serving during Korea, where he received three Bronze Stars. Max worked for the Avilla Highway Department in the winter with his friend Robert Campbell, The Avilla Seed Mill, and as a bus driver for the Avilla R-13 School System. But his favorite job was working on his farm. Max served on the Avilla R-13 School Board for over twenty years.

Max is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Delores Wilkerson; two sons, Mike and Scott (Kim), five grandchildren, Clint (Sadie) Wilkerson, Kelsey (Jordan) Prater, Taylor (Alexis) Wilkerson, Marcie (Josh) Mason and Jacob Wilkerson; six great grand-children, and one on the way; along with a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Blake Baptist Church 8630 County Road 10, Sarcoxie, MO. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at 10:00 am in Blake Baptist Church 8630 County Road 10 Sarcoxie, Missouri 64862, with burial to follow at Williams Cemetery, Avilla, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williams Cemetery.
