Yay! SCREEN-FREE 3rd SATURDAYS artCAMP is coming soon! Three terrific artCamp teachers are ready to Rally for Art with aspiring young artists!

Our kids and teens know technology can be terrific. When you are stuck at home and need to keep up with school and homework and friends, computers and devices sure help everyone stay in touch and stay busy. But sometimes enough is enough and you just need a break from all those hours meeting up for school in Zoom classrooms or remotely chatting and gaming with friends or just messing around on screens for hours and hours. Sometimes you get bored with the same old, same old. Sometimes you just want to get out and go somewhere and do something different and fun!

Do you have kids or teens, ages 8 to 14, in your house or on your block who have been spending a lot of their time living virtually online? Are they ready to do something different and fun? Do you want them to safely make off-line discoveries and practice their creativity? Are they ready to Rally for Art?

Sign up your young techno-peeps for screen-free fun, exploring, learning and creating at SCREEN-FREE 3rd SATURDAYS artCAMP at artCentral! The fee for each 3rd Saturday class is $20.00. All supplies are provided.

The Missouri Arts Council has certified artCentral as an ArtSafe Space. CDC protocols are followed by all who come to artCentral and Hyde House. Everyone wears a mask and fills out a questionnaire for contact tracing. All the teachers and interns learn and use best sanitizing practices. Each class is small with only eight artCampers, so social distancing is made easy.

Three of artCentral’s favorite artCamp teachers will be offering four classes for the 3rd Saturdays in April, May and June. Mark the dates on your calendars and sign up your aspiring artists pronto. Since the classes will be small, they will fill up quickly. One scholarship will be available for each class. These will be awarded on first-to-request basis to artCampers who make written applications accompanied by a teacher’s recommendation.

You can find registration forms in the red information box on the front steps of artCentral at Hyde House up the hill at 1110 East Thirteenth in Carthage and on artCentral’s website https://www.artcentralcarthage.org/artcamp-2021-middot-screen-free-3rd-saturdays.html. For more information call artCamp Director, Alice Lynn, at (417)358-4404.
