The Carthage Lady Tigers (10-5, 1-0 COC) used a 27-9 run in the second half to take care of Joplin 44-25 in their Central Ozark Conference opener Thursday at Joplin High School.
“The first half was Joplin’s pace,” Carthage coach Scott Moore said. “Coming off the big win against Strafford on Tuesday, it took a lot of energy … We maybe didn’t have our best energy back right away.”
Hailey Fullerton led Carthage with 17 points, Brinna Ream added 13 points, Kianna Yates scored 10, and Raven Probert and Sophie Shannon finished with 2 points each.
Carthage faces COC rival Carl Junction at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Carl Junction.
