M. Marilyn Howard

M. Marilyn Howard was called to be with her Lord and Savior on November 7, 2025.

Marilyn was born to the late Harry and Hulda (Boehne) Timmerman in Golden City, Mo.  on December 11, 1935.  She treasured the time and numerous memories she had growing up with her sisters on the farm.  After high school, Marilyn attended Missouri State University where she was a proud member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.  She then received her associate’s degree from Missouri Southern State University.  Marilyn was employed by the former Smith Brothers Mfg. Company and Eagle Pitcher Industries in the Data Processing Centers.

In 1957, Marilyn married Harry Howard and together they built a wonderful life on their stock farm north of Carthage.  She was a dedicated mother to her two daughters and enjoyed being a stay at home mom chauffeuring her girls to various lessons and prepping for many horse and cattle shows.  With all that, Marilyn still found time to serve countless hours as a 4-H Leader, volunteering in the church, and serving on the Jasper County Extension Council.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Howard, and her two sisters Joan Miller and Carolyn Combs, and her three grandchildren Avery Claire, Jacob Howard, and Lillie Anne Radant.  Her legacy of love continues through her surviving family:  daughters Kim Priddy (Walter) and Kelly Radant (Robbie) and her granddaughters Katharine Priddy McAden, Whitney Priddy Garrison, and Ellison Grace Radant.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage, Missouri.  The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Ulmer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider sending memorial contributions to The Lutheran Hour Ministries or Carthage Humane Society.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.  Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”  John 11:25-26
