4th Annual Sheep and Goat Field Day Aug. 7

In collaboration with Lincoln University and with financial support from NC-SARE, MU Extension will host the 4th Annual Sheep and Goat Field Day, which will focus on management-intensive grazing. The field day will be held Aug. 7 at the Southwest Missouri Research, Extension and Education Center, 14548 State Rd. H, Mt. Vernon, MO 65712. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and the event concludes at 4:30 p.m.
Topics will include
- Forage/animal selection
- Nutritional management
- Parasite control
- Economics/marketing
- Grazing system layout, design, water and fencing
- Forage quality and quantity evaluation
- Health and body condition score evaluation
