Eugene Thomas Woestman

Eugene Thomas Woestman, 91, widower of Alice Nichols Woestman, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Born on June 1, 1934, in Carthage, Missouri, Gene was the son of the late William H. Woestman and Marie G. Woestman.

Gene earned a Bachelor’s degree from University of Missouri. After serving in the United States Navy as a lieutenant and working for Carthage Marble as an engineer, he was hired by Leggett and Platt, Inc. in 1969 and became general manager of the Winchester facilities. He retired in 2004. A devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winchester, his faith and family were his heart.

Gene is survived by his son, Michael E. (Gena) Woestman; his sisters, Sue Matthews of Cincinnati, OH, and Pat (Ed) Corich of St. Louis, MO and his brother, Richard (Daphne) Woestman of Williamsburg, VA. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Gene was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Miki N. Woestman and his brothers Jim Woestman, Carthage, MO and William H. Woestman, OMI, Chicago, IL.

A funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winchester, KY at 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2026 with visitation beginning at 11:00am.

He will be laid to rest in Park Cemetery, Carthage, MO. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
