Sarcoxie man out on parole 8 years early sends latest victim to hospital with multiple stab wounds

SARCOXIE, Mo. — At approximately 3:09 AM, 04-03-26, Jasper County Deputies responded to the report of an assault in Sarcoxie. Deputies responded to a residence at 3523 Bridgeview Road, Sarcoxie, and found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

During the investigation detectives identified and located the suspect, Colten J. Franklin, 29, Sarcoxie. He was arrested without incident and charges have been filed for First Degree Assault with no bond set.

Franklin is currently on parole for First Degree Assault and Third Degree Assault on a special victim.

He was released from the Department of Correction in December 2025, with a little more than 8 years remaining on his sentence.
