Maple Leaf baby pageant crowns Strickland, White

Mila Reign Strickland, daughter of Madison Peddy and Tristen Strickland, was crowned the winner of the Maple Leaf Baby Pageant in the girls’ category at the Carthage R-9 Auditorium on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Lochlen White, son of Josette White, was the winner in the boys category.

A total of 42 babies, ages newborn to one-year-old competed in the annual pageant in four different age categories.

The winners of the age categories were brought back to the stage for one final round of judging and the winners were crowned.

The winners will ride in a float in the 53rd annual Maple Leaf Parade at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The parade runs from the Carthage Square, south on Grant Street and Grand Avenue to Centennial Avenue, then east to the Carthage Junior High School.
