14-year-old Carthage girl injured as car goes airborne, overturns

A Carthage teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident 7:55 a.m. Wednesday on Grand Avenue a half mile south of Carthage.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1995 Honda Passport driven by a 16-year-old Carthage boy traveled off the right side of the roadway, became airborne, strucked the ground and skidded, striking a fence and a pole before overturning.

A passenger, a 14-year-old Carthage girl, was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.
