Larry Joe Anderson, 71, Carthage, Missouri, a man known for his friendly demeanor, quick wit, and adventurous spirit, passed away early Monday morning, December 30, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 27, 1953, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Vernon Alonzo Anderson and Shirley Mae (Knapp) Anderson. Larry’s infectious laughter and love for life left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A proud graduate of South Pemiscott High School’s class of 1961 in Steele, Missouri, Larry carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life. He embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver for several different companies, a role he embraced with passion for over 40 years. His commitment to his work was only matched by the camaraderie he shared with his colleagues and the many friendships he cultivated along the way.
Larry’s zest for life extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He was a master at the dominoes table, always ready for a friendly challenge and the opportunity to share a laugh. His love for travel and new experiences was evident in his fondness for cruises, where he could explore new horizons and create lasting memories. Those who knew Larry will remember him as the life of the party, always ready with a joke and a smile that could light up a room. His sense of humor and easygoing nature made him a beloved figure in his community and a cherished companion on any adventure.
Survivors include his brothers, Wade R. Anderson (Maria Angelica), and Craig Anderson; his sister, Lisa G. Anderson; his cousin, Debbie Lashbrook; a host of nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Brent L. Anderson and Mark S. Anderson.
