Hugh Junior Osborne

Hugh Junior Osborne, 95, Carthage, Missouri, went to be with his LORD and Savior Thursday, September 11, 2026.

Hugh was born December 17, 1930, to Hugh Cattlett and Gladys Ann (Brandon) Osborne in Lincoln County Township, Jasper County, Missouri.

As a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Hugh taught hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity at Charlotte Air Force Base, North Carolina. He assisted with the B-52 and B-36 courses, and B-29 radar units at Hamilton Army Airfield in California form 1950 – 1954 during the Korean Conflict and received the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals.

He farmed, owned and operated Jasper County Feed Service, a portable feed processing plant, he was an independent truck driver, and later drove for Moark Productions, D&D Sexton, and Global Pallet Solutions.

Hugh’s favorite job was telling people about his LORD. He was a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and a faithful servant giving his time and resources to others. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Carthage, Calvary Baptist Church, Joplin, and the First Church of the Nazarene, Carthage. He never missed an opportunity to share the WORD. He was also strong-willed, determined, persistent, loved the outdoors, and had an opinion on most things. His most memorable and consistent advice was to look up and pray.

Hugh married Charlotte Leotta Breeze on June 25, 1950, and they shared 70 years together until she joined her LORD on August 1, 2020.

He leaves behind the seeds of his love, faith, and hope with his daughter, Teresa Ford and husband, Lance; grandson, Luke Osborne Ford; great-granddaughter, Murphie English Ford; brother, Leland L. Osborne and wife Linda; sister Linda Castor, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Hugh was also preceded in death by his son, Alan Brent Osborne; brothers, Edwin and Lloyd Osbrone; and sister, Reta Castor.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Park Cemetery, Carthage. The family request in honor, remembrance of Hugh, contributions can be made to Crosslines, Crisis Center, Golden Bibles, Way of the Cross Ministries – Brother Ben Butler of Harlingen, Texas, Voice of the Martyrs, Lunch and Laugh at Carthage Nazarene, or similar organizations.
