Carthage Wrestling posted wins on both the men’s and women’s sides in last Thursday’s matchup with the Bolivar Liberators. While the Liberator teams had some major holes in the lineup, the Carthage men saw the return of Randy Teo at 106 lbs., and some key wins at four different weights. Kixson Reynolds (113 lbs.) posted another win, this time by technical fall, over Bolivar’s Landon Mumm in the second period. At 132 lbs., Mason Artym got the victory by pin over Stetson Bradley in the third period, paving the way for Jace Nichols’ pin over Madden Ross at 138 lbs. Michael Evans completed the Tigers’ head-to-head victories for the evening with his own pin over Logan Roberts at 150 lbs.
On the ladies’ side, a lopsided lineup worked in the favor of the Tigers, as the Liberators only filled four of the fourteen weight classes. Although the Bolivar team won the two head-to-head matches at 100 and 105 lbs., respectively, Carthage’s strength in numbers allowed for a dominant 60-24 win.
