Carthage Lady Tigers defeat 5th ranked Strafford 63-53

The Carthage girls basketball team walked away with a big win Tuesday, Jan. 5 knocking off Strafford, the No. 5 ranked team in Class 3 to improve to 9-5 on the season.

Carthage’s Head Coach Scott Moore called it a “great team victory,” for his squad and was impressed with the team’s “composure from both ends of the floor.”

Carthage used a 12-3 third quarter scoring advantage to eventually knock off Strafford 63-53.

Senior Hailey Fullerton paced three of the Lady Tiger double-digit scorers with 18 points, sophomore guard Kianna Yates followed close behind with 17 points, and Katie Crowe added 11 points for the game. Brinna Ream finished with seven points, Sophie Shannon added six points and Landry Cochran rounded out the scoring with four points.
