Carthage 8th Grade Football Beats Joplin 36-0

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage Tigers 8th grade football team defeated the Joplin Eagles 36-0. The defense played a great game shutting out the Eagles and not allowing them to score. The offense completely dominated the game and scored five touchdowns on the night.

Karter Manzer, Colton Charleston, and Reid Kyte all had rushing touchdowns. Manzer also threw for two more touchdowns to Cam Shields. The Tigers are now 3-0 on the season and we play Neosho next Thursday at home at 5:30. Here is the scoring by quarters:

1st Quarter (14-0)

Karter Manzer had a 5-yard run for a TD.

Manzer had a 35-yard pass to Cam Shields for a TD. XPT run in by Manzer.

2nd Quarter (22-0)

Colton Charleston had a 20-yard run for a TD. XPT run in by Manzer.

3rd Quarter (28-0)

Reid Kyte had a 15-yard run for a TD.

4th Quarter

Manzer had a 40-yard pass to Shields for a TD. XPT run in by Bryce Morris

In the B game the Tigers won the game by a score of 6-0. The only score of the game was a 40-yard pass from Brady Hembree to Jace Dalton for a TD.
