Shirley G. Johnson, formerly of Nevada, Missouri, more recently of Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Sunday morning June 8, 2025, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, Missouri. She was born on May 18, 1949 to Marion and Dorothy (Nichols) Hurley.
Shirley was actively involved in the community while living in Nevada, Missouri. She was a past member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, and many more. She had a passion for photography, and the outdoors. She loved spending time with family at holiday events, Christmas being her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Hurley and Dorothy Burgess; her stepfathers, Jess Huckobey and Alva “Dutch” Burgess, an infant sister, Sharon Hurley; and her grandparents and great grandparents.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Lee and husband Mark; a son, Jeff Elmore and wife Peggy; two grandsons, Kevin Lee and wife Katelyn, and Scott Lee and wife Emily; four great grandchildren, Rhett Lee, Hazel Lee, Carsen Lee, and Corynn Lee.
