Marvin Wayne Floyd was born on November 9, 1939 in Breckenridge, MO to Carl & Eleanor (Dewey) Floyd and passed away at home on May 2, 2021. He married Louetta Alice Maxson on June 2, 1961. They were married for 59 years.

Marvin served in the USMC Reserves as a member of the 2nd Weapons BN in St. Joseph, MO from 1957-63. He worked in the lumber and hardware business from 1961-1992. From 1992-2002 he presented seminars on the lumber business in a 10-state area.

Marvin was ordained as a Baptist deacon in 1975 and he taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. He was a man who loved God, his family, his country, and a good round of golf.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Morris and brother Forrest (Frosty).

Survivors include his wife Louetta of Carthage, daughter Lana (Charles) Royer of Carthage, son Morris (Mary) Floyd of Haysville, KS and brother Dick (Pat) Floyd of Fountain Hills, AZ, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 4th from 5 pm – 7 pm at Knell Mortuary in Carthage. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 5th at 1 pm at Knell Mortuary.

A memorial scholarship has been established for the Men’s Encounter at Christ’s Church of Oronogo, 22145 Kafir Rd, Oronogo, MO 64855, in care of the Knell Mortuary.
