Mark Allen Overton, age 65 of Carthage, Missouri passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by family. He was a lifetime resident of the Carthage area.
Mark was born on August 9, 1956 in Carthage to Alvin R. Overton and Evelyn R. (Bailey) McAuley. He was a 1974 graduate of Carthage High School. Mark married the love of his life, Cynthia (Gibbons) Overton on June 6, 1976, and they created a wonderful life together. They had two sons, Mark and Justin, and four amazing grandchildren who he loved dearly.
Mark was a proud veteran of the Air Force. After getting out of the service, he was an automotive mechanic for over 30 years. In his spare time, he loved to go hunting and to drag races. His favorite way to spend a day was with his family barbecuing though.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Overton and Evelyn McAuley; and his grandparents Hugh Sr. and Frances Overton.
Mark leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Overton; sons, Mark Overton II and wife, Stephanie of Ozark, MO, Justin Overton and wife, Holly of Carthage; grandchildren, Jaleigh Overton, Mark Overton III, Erynn Overton, and Aarick Rosenstiel.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
