Lendy Sue George, 74, Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 31, 1951, in Lamar, Missouri, the daughter of the late William H. Smith and Janie L. (Myers) Taylor. Lendy’s life was a tapestry of warm friendships, family bonds, and a zest for the great outdoors that never waned.

Lendy’s educational journey culminated with a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, a testament to her dedication and intellectual curiosity. Her professional life was as diverse and vibrant as her interests; she not only raised cotton in the sun-kissed fields of Arizona but also managed a trucking company with the same passion and commitment she brought to every endeavor.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Russell George; her daughter, Piper Vale; her brother, Kevin McConnell; her sister, Tracey Adams; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, Craig Peterson, and daughter, Micah; her brother, Ferrell Smith; and her sister, Earlina Kirkpatrick.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Lendy found solace and excitement in riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, carving through the snow on skis, and embracing the beauty of nature. Her friends and family often reminisced about her infectious laughter echoing through the mountains and valleys during their shared adventures.

Per Lendy’s wishes, there was cremation. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
