Lawrence William “Larry” Robertson, Jr., 72, Carthage, Mo., beloved husband, father and “papa”, passed away Wednesday morning, April 1, 2020, at his home.

Larry was born July 16, 1947, in Carthage to Lawrence W. Robertson, Sr. and Marjorie (Chandler) Robertson. He was a 1965 graduate of Carthage High School. He then received his bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri Southern State College and married the love of his life, Barbara Lown, on August 15, 1969, in Carthage. He was drafted to service in the US Army in 1970, stationed stateside at Fort Rucker, and overseas in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was Honorably discharged. Larry worked for Safeway Cheese for 23 years, then Schreiber Foods, in the production and sanitation departments until his retirement. He was a member of Grand Avenue Church of God, Carthage.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Robertson; two sons, Philip Robertson and wife Melissa, Warr Acres, Okla., and Nathan Robertson, Carthage; his mother, Marjorie Robertson; one sister, Connie Goodman, Carthage; one brother Terry Robertson, Wichita, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, Alexander, Abigail, Aaron, Adin, Amariah, Ananias, and Anna Lycia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence W. Robertson, Sr., a brother, Randy Robertson and four grandchildren.

Larry will lie in state from 8 am to 5 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2020, and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage, for friends and family to come to sign the register book and pay their respects. There will be a private family service and burial will be at Gray’s Point Cemetery, Lawrence County, Missouri.
