Larry Eugene Ford, “Mr. BBQ” Passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

He was born in Carthage on January 29, 1937. His parents were Howard and Hazel Ford. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan, his six children, three stepchildren, twelve grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and his brother and sisters, and in-laws. He also leaves behind many dear friends and was preceded in death by Anna Iles, his granddaughter.

Larry was creative and artistic; he leaves behind many examples of his love for writing and drawing. He was an award-winning cook and was the owner of Mr. BBQ Restaurant in Carthage. He was also an original member of “The River Rats”, a group of boys who camped along the banks of Spring River in the early 1950s, which was inspiration for his short story, Memoirs of a River Rat.” Larry’s love of fishing, hunting, and nature lasted his entire life and inspired much of his writing and drawing.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery, Carthage.
