Gene Etter, 84, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in Carthage, Missouri. Gene was born February 15, 1938 in Jasper, Missouri to Guerney Etter and Edith Murphy. Gene was a lifetime resident of Jasper. He managed Webb’s Hardware Store and was a member of the United Methodist Church, both in Jasper, Missouri. Gene was an assistant Boy Scout Leader, was in the National Guard, and was a member of the Masonic Lodges AF & AM Jasper Lodge.
Gene was united in marriage to Lois Aber; she preceded him in death in 2017.
Gene is survived by two sons, Mike Larimore (Janis) of Carthage, Missouri and Jay Larimore of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Etter; a son, Myrl Larimore; his parents, Guerney and Edith Etter; one infant brother; and one sister, Betty Hole.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. At the beginning of the service Masonic Rites will be performed. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri.
