Charles Alonzo “Chuck” Gisel III, 73, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 8, 2021, at his home with family by his side. Chuck was born September 30, 1948, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Charles Alonzo Gisel II and Faye Nell (Hodge) Gisel. He was a 1966 graduate from Juneau Douglas High School in Juneau, Alaska, where he was active in pep band, Rifle Club, and art. Chuck was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. Chuck married Patty Jackson on July 5, 2008, in Joplin, Missouri. He was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Carthage. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and anything that involved being outside.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Patty Gisel; two daughters, Brandy Tokman (Siouxha), and Christy McClure (Mike); a stepson, Zack Thorn (Amy); grandchildren, Jillian McKnight, McKenzie McClure, Gavin McClure, Rosalie White, Iris White, Madelynne Barr, and Cooper Thorn; numerous cousins, and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gisel II and Faye Nell Forrest; a stepson, Jacob Yates; a brother, Robert Gisel; and a sister, Cheryl Fiola.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus staff for their tender loving care, and would also like to thank to Crossroads Baptist Church family for their support and care.

Per Chuck’s wishes, there was cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Crossroads Baptist Church, Carthage. Inurnment will follow at Friends Cemetery, Purcell, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
