Bobby Joe “Bob” Cardwell, 92, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
Bob was born on December 21, 1929, in Everton, Missouri, the son of the late Bill and Irene (West) Cardwell. Bob was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. He married Nedra Kester on November 21, 1949, in Carthage, Missouri, she preceded him in death on December 13, 2017. Bob was an extremely hard worker, working on his farm which he loved. He was a member of the Fairview Christian Church, of Carthage, and was a greeter at the Can DO Senior Center in Carthage, Missouri, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include a son, Dale Cardwell (Patricia), Carthage, Missouri; four daughters, Nancy Williams, Carthage, Missouri, Sharon Holland (Chuck), Webb City, Missouri, Sandra Wells, Webb City, Missouri, and Josie Smith (Dean), Webb City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nedra; his parents, Bill and Irene Cardwell; and two brothers, Jack Cardwell, and Bill Cardwell.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday January 28, 2022, at the Knell Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Hackney Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday January 27, 2022 at the Knell Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to Cookson Hills or Carthage Can Do Senior Center in care of the Knell Mortuary.
