Due to updated weather information that calls for rain and freezing temperatures,
Vision Carthage has updated the date for the press conference for Monday, April 26
at 1:00 pm to celebrate the installation of the first three tiles of the Downtown Mural
Project “Big Dreams Grow in Carthage” being placed onto the wall. The conference will be held in the Jasper County Parking lot, just to the east of McBride’s Antiques, located at 136 E. 4th Street, Carthage MO.

The concept and design for the artwork was created by the internationally known artist
Andy Thomas, who worked within the parameters of famous Carthaginians who were
either born in Carthage or grew up in Carthage. The “Big Dreams Grow in Carthage”
Mural strives to help children realize they can be anyone they want to be regardless of
being from a small town. The project is managed by Paul Whitehill of Whitehill Enterprises. Prep work included painting the entirety of the wall, prepping the wall, and repairing some roofing issues prior to installing the mural tiles.

Please join us on Monday as we begin the tile installation on this exciting project. For
questions or comments, please call Executive Director Abi Almandinger, at
417.793.6589, or email at [email protected].
