JOPLIN, Mo. – Children in foster care who have been abused or neglected will benefit from a $3,000 grant awarded to Jasper County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) by Sparklight®, Joplin’s hometown internet provider, through its Charitable Giving Fund.
This spring, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 27 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. From children’s advocacy programs and mental health services to hunger relief and vital skills training, the funding will help advance essential services that uplift lives and strengthen communities.
“Sparklight is proud to support organizations like Jasper County CASA and their caring volunteers who work so hard to improve children’s lives,” said Mike Drahota, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, North Central. “These nonprofits are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods, and we’re honored to help amplify their work through our Charitable Giving Fund.”
Jasper County CASA will use the funds to add an outdoor storage shed for safekeeping of children’s toys and equipment at the CASA House.
“We are deeply grateful for support from the Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund,” said Becky Burns, Jasper County CASA Assistant Executive Director. “The CASA House is a safe and welcoming space for children in foster care and their advocates. This new shed will help us protect and store outdoor toys, sports equipment and furnishings that bring them joy and normal childhood experiences. Sparklight’s generosity reflects a sincere commitment to the well-being of these children so they can heal and thrive.”
The company’s Charitable Giving Fund focuses on initiatives that create lasting, local impact, including education and digital literacy, hunger relief and community development. Since the Fund’s inception in 2020, Cable One has awarded more than $1 million in grants to more than 250 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
Nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall. Applications for the fall 2025 cycle will be accepted October 1–31, 2025.
