Investigation continues into Joplin man’s death

An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday (3-28-2024), the investigation is ongoing and more information may be released as it becomes available.

JOPLIN, Mo. — On 3-25-2024 at approximately 9:44 AM, Jasper County Deputies received a call of a disturbance with shots fired on Pump Lane, near Zora and Schifferdecker in Joplin. When deputies arrived, they located a deceased male on the property.

Detectives arrived on scene and began gathering evidence and statements from witnesses who were on scene. At this time there is no threat to the public and all involved persons have been contacted and are being interviewed.

Next of kin has been notified and the deceased male has been identified as Travis S. Wyrick, 37, of Joplin.

The investigation continues and more information may be released when appropriate to do so.
