Carthage man suffers serious injury, cited for felony DWI following rollover crash on 86

A Carthage man was cited for felony driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle crash 5:26 a.m. Saturday on MO 86 two miles north of Racine.

According to the Highway Patrol accident and arrest reports, a 2004 Toyota Camry driven by Michale J. Boucher, 48, Carthage, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

In addition to DWI, Boucher, who was taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, with serious injuries, was cited for failure to drive on the right side of the roadway resulting in a crash.

Newton County Circuit Court online records indicate Boucher pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated July 2, was given a suspended sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for two years by Judge Anna Christine Rhoades.
