Vision Carthage Announces Free Festive Family Events this Holiday Season

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Christmas in Carthage will be extra festive this year thanks to the Vision Carthage Hometown Holidays Committee. Volunteers will be working together to provide a series of free holiday events to the community each Monday evening in December leading up to Christmas. Referred to as “Merry Mondays,” the fun will begin on Dec. 1 during the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Historic Carthage Square at 6:30 p.m.

Other events include the Annual Candy Cane Hunt at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 in Central Park, S’mores with Santa on Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. at Kellogg Lake and a Festive Skate Night on Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. at the Municipal Park Skating Rink.

“We know many families are struggling this year, and that’s why we’re extra committed to bringing free holiday fun to Carthage,” said Sally Stuart, Co Director of Vision Carthage.

“We want everyone to have a very Merry Christmas and we know our Merry Mondays initiative will go a long way towards accomplishing that for the community.”
