Community Comes Together to Promote Pediatric Oral Health with Aetna

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Community partners recently combined forces to address pediatric oral health concerns through preventative efforts in partnership with Aetna.

Four-hundred bags filled with dental hygiene items were distributed along with a bilingual children’s book focused on preventing cavities during an oral health event on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Coyle Center in Carthage. Dr. Julia Heinrichs, Dental Director for Dental Utilization Management, attended to represent Aetna.

The McCune Brooks Healthcare Foundation, Parents as Teachers, Vision Carthage, the Fair Acres Family YMCA, Kansas City University, Carthage R-9 Schools, the Carthage Family Literacy Council and private stakeholders helped make the project possible.
