Joplin Little Theatre announces auditions for first two shows of 2021-22 season


Joplin Little Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for the first two shows of the 2021-22 season. 

The first audition is for the musical comedy Plaid Tidings.  Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, August 2 & 3, 2021 at Joplin Little Theatre.  Starting time will be 7:00 pm.   “The boys are back in town!  Frankie, Jinx, Sparky, and Smudge from Forever Plaid return to Earth for a second time to lend their heavenly harmony to the Christmas season.”   The production will be directed by Carolyn McGowan.  The show requires 4 males ages 18 and older.  Vocal Parts needed are tenor, tenor/baritone, baritone, and bass.  They must be able to sing, read music, and harmonize well.  Additional reading from the script will be required.  Performance dates are December 1 – 5, 2021.

The second audition is for the stage play Clue: On Stage, which will be directed by Tegan Whited.  Auditions will take place at Joplin Little Theatre at 7:00 pm on Monday & Tuesday, August 9 & 10, 2021.  “The classic board game comes to life on stage and all the suspects are present:  Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, and Mr. Green.”  The show requires 5 male and 5 female actors ages 20 and older.  Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  The show requires a strong ensemble.  The production will be September 29 – October 2, 2021.
