The Carthage R-9 School Foundation concluded its annual Major Saver campaign in cooperation with the elementary schools of the Carthage R-9 School District.
Foundation Director, Crystal Brown, is already excited about next year’s opportunities.
“Covid has definitely affected our ability to get in front of people, and the prizes and awards for the kids. We know that next year Major Saver is planning to resume their normal in-person assemblies with each school, and hopefully the pizza parties and limo rides, as well. The kids work so hard to raise money for their school that they definitely deserve to reap the rewards of their efforts,” Brown said.
The fundraiser promotes local business by obtaining deals from restaurants, activity centers and other services to provide consumers with a discount card listing those savings.
“The community support we receive from this promotion is truly humbling,” said Brown. “Not only are people supporting our Carthage schools, but local businesses as well. Any time we can pay it forward and encourage people to shop local, we do it.”
