Carthage FBLA students compete, earn honors at MSSU

JOPLIN, Mo. — On February 9, 2022, the Carthage chapter of Future Business Leaders of America competed at the District 17 Business Competition. Over 50 students competed in events ranging from online tests to live presentations, covering all subsets of business.

The event took place at Missouri Southern State University’s Plaster School of Business, where area business professionals judged the events.

One member from Carthage earned the honor of being elected to the District 17 officer team: Cambry Erdman as District President.

The months of preparation paid off for Carthage students, as 16 students were awarded 1st place and students placed in 33 events. In total, 27 students qualified for the state competition, which will take place in Springfield, Missouri in April. Here, students will compete for a coveted spot at the national competition in Chicago, Illinois. Stay tuned to see what Carthage’s future professionals achieve!
