Accidental shooting in Carthage leads to meth arrest

On Sunday, July 25, 2021 at approximately 4:15 PM, Jasper County Deputies were dispatched to 459 West Church Street, in Carthage, in reference to an apparent accidental shooting.

When Deputies arrived, they contacted a 36 year-old female with a non- life threatening injury to her forehead. The victim was treated at the hospital and later released.

During the investigation a search warrant was obtained and suspected methamphetamine along with several weapons were located and seized inside the residence.

Zachary C. Rosson, 33, of Carthage, was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center and charges were submitted to the County Prosecutor for Possession of a controlled Substance and Unlawful use of a weapon.
