JOPLIN, Mo. – Children facing family crises will continue to have a safe place to turn thanks to a $5,000 grant awarded to Children’s Haven of Southwest Missouri by Sparklight® through its Charitable Giving Fund. The grant supports the organization’s Crisis Care Program, which provides free, short-term shelter and around-the-clock care for children while families work to regain stability.
During its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 25 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. From child and family support to hunger relief to education and vital skills training, the funding is helping enhance communities and uplift lives.
“Access to safe, short-term care can make a meaningful difference for families navigating crises,” said Travis Harr, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, North Central. “Through our Charitable Giving Fund, we’re proud to support Children’s Haven and the essential services they provide to children in our community.”
Children’s Haven Executive Director Stephanie Theis expressed appreciation for the grant and noted its impact on local families.
“Sparklight’s Charitable Giving Fund grant strengthens our ability to support children when their families are navigating emergencies or instability,” said Theis. “This partnership ensures more children remain safe, supported and connected to resources that promote long-term wellbeing. We appreciate Sparklight for helping protect the most vulnerable in our community.”
