Chase Shockley and Jonathan Elias-Gomez placed second in the group website category at the regional National History Day competition at Missouri Southern in March. Their website showcases the triumph and tragedy of the W.P.A. (Works Progress Administration) during the Great Depression. After extensive research and trips to the Carthage Public Library, Carthage High School Library and Spiva Library, Chase and Jonathan chose to show their work as a group website.

As Carthage Junior High students, they compete in the Junior Division at the regional and state competitions and judges from around Missouri will view their work this Saturday.  This is the second year for these students to attend this competition, with last year’s work placing them in the top six in Missouri for designing a website.

This year’s work can be viewed at:  57011081.nhd.weebly.com
