Jasper County Eastern District Commissioner Tom Flanigan Resigns

Tom Flanigan, who has served as Jasper County’s Eastern District Commissioner since 2017, has announced his resignation.

In a letter to county officials, Flanigan shared that he will step down from his position due to health reasons. He has been a part of the commission for the past eight years, working on a wide range of projects that supported the county’s infrastructure, budgeting, and services for residents.

Under state law, Governor Mike Kehoe has 60 days to appoint a new commissioner. The appointee will complete the remainder of Flanigan’s current term.

The next regular election for the Eastern District commissioner seat is next year.
