“Bittersweet” is the way Carthage Wrestling Coach Kenny Brown described Senior Night in Thursday’s double dual against McDonald County and Marshfield.

“When you spend so much time with these kids over the years and you get to know them, they really become like your own,” Brown said.  “It’s especially hard when one of those seniors is my own daughter, who has been my right hand for the past four years.  I always hope that the time they’ve spent as part of the team means more to them than just wins and losses.  I’ve tried to teach them that wrestling and being a part of our program is about being responsible, learning to be a valuable contributor and learning life skills that will benefit them once they graduate.”

Brown and the coaching staff recognized seniors, Zeke Sappington (volunteer student coach), Morgan Brown and Ava Petticrew (managers), wrestlers Dalen Moore, Brandon Reeves, Colton Winder, Victor Salazar, Josue Gonzalez and Eduardo Ramirez.
