TRENTON, Mo. – Lady Pirates golf has signed their first recruit for the 2020-21 season.  Sara Golden, a senior standout from Carthage, was a varsity golfer all four years of high school. She was part of the all-conference and all-district team for three years while also qualifying for sectionals. As a senior, she also qualified for the Class 2 state tournament, placing 56th. Her low 18-hole round in her prep career was a 77.

In addition to her efforts for Carthage high school golf, Sara also carried a 3.7 GPA, played varsity basketball and ran on the track team. Other honors include being a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.

Head Coach Daniel Cordray had these comments about his program’s latest recruit. “Sara is a great signing for our program. She is a great all-round athlete that is now going to be focusing on golf and I see tremendous upside in her talents. She will come in and be a great leader on our team. Through watching her on the course and with talking with her coaches, Sara has the tools to compete very well at our level. I’m excited to have her on campus this coming fall to see her talents grow on and off the course.”
