Carthage Historic Preservation hosts the annual Lobster Boil. The event is on Saturday, October 2, 2021, on the lawn of the Historic Phelps House from 4:30 pm to 8 pm. The Lobster Boil is an annual fundraiser for Carthage Historic Preservation and raises funds for preservation efforts in Carthage, Missouri including maintaining the historic Phelps House.
Picnic at Sunset
Dine on the lawn of the Historic Phelps House with the community of Carthage and live music from Dr. G and the Tall Man. Enjoy a full seafood meal prepared by volunteers of the Carthage Historic Preservation. The meal is $65 and includes fresh Maine lobster, Alaskan crab legs, and gulf shrimp with vinaigrette coleslaw, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, garlic bread, tea, lemonade, and a buffet of homemade desserts. Argentina-style grilled flank steak is available for people who would prefer. A cash bar is on-site.

Maple Leaf Festival in Carthage, Missouri

The house was built in 1895 and celebrates 126 years of excellence and opulence as an example of Victorian-era residential living. The home is located in the southern residential historic district of Grand Avenue in Carthage, Missouri.
